Most people have either black/brown hair or blond, so red hair is different, not bad but different. I personally am neutral when it comes to red hair, but generally prefer brunettes over blonds. I have seen some red heads I've wanted to date, and thought they were hot.

Having been a "redhead" with light, not pale skin all of my life, I can honestly say no, guys had no problem liking me. If anything, it was BECAUSE I was different and unique. Also, feeling like I WAS different caused me to be more shy and introverted than necessary, and so it is possible that the redheads you referred to are the same way for the same reason. I've seen and known some very gorgeous redheads, and my husband who was a buff blond surfer dude in his heyday settled on me, AND it just happens, his FIRST serious girlfriend was ALSO a redhead. If you personally find redheads unappealing, I am quite sure you could think of a few blonde's or brunettes who aren't too easy on the eyes either.
