I dyed my hair and i'm not liking it. I know it gets lighter after a few weeks but is there anything common i can use (no smart *** comments please) to lighten up the darkness and make it not look so red?

after reading all of the above i hope they work . after years of dying my mousy brown hair and gradually ending up jet black..i like you didnt like it..although your red,not black!....i only had the option of bleaching and im thankful that it lifted and now im highlighted with subtle brown with blond too....i didnt lose my hair and im grateful that i didnt damage it either...i wish u luck in your plight.

I have red hair and the only stuff that will lighten my hair up is loreal haircolor remover kit. They have them at CVS, RITE AID, WALMART. If you are looking to lighten just a bit don't leave on very long. If you want it lighter use a hair drier to dry your hair after you put it on wait a bit and then rinse and wash. It makes mine blonde.
