Ohhhhhh don't! My friends daughter dyed her beautiful red hair very dark recently. It looked dreadful when the regrowth started! Just have some highlights put through it!

I don't think you should die it. Red hair is stunning. Maybe all you need is a hair style which you prefer.

But if it makes you self conscious then maybe you should consider dying it, but make sure you do it well. Someone who I knew didn't like his red hair and he tried to dye it brown and it looked strange.

Why not? It's your hair. Do you let others tell you how to dress? Where %26amp; what to eat? where to work? How to spend your money? Who to date? Do what you want to make you happy and feel better. Every one has an opinion and they will express it no matter what. That's life and human nature. Let it roll off your back or be bold and turn the tables on them and give them some inane opinion about their hair, eyes, weight or what they are wearing, who they are dating. If they are your friends, get new ones who will support you and ignore the rest. If all else fails, tell them you forgive them and if they say what for? tell them you forgive them for being stupid.

Although I do agree that red hair is usually lovely, I know a few ppl who, like you hated having it %26amp; dyed it the first chance they got.

One word of warning if you do decide to get it dyed, PLEASE don't go for the blonde highlights or streaks thing.

I have a couple of pals who did thid %26amp; although one of them has got it right now, they both looked like tabby cats who had had a fight with something whenthey first got it done (which was a good number of years ago now!)

I've also got red hair and personally, I wouldn't dye it. Mainly because it makes me stand out from the crowd and I rather like this.

However, if you are unhappy with the colour of your hair you could dye it, perhaps, with a semi-permanent dye to see how you like it and go for a more permanent one once you know.

You could also try highlights/lowlights to enhance your natural colour with other tones but not change it completely. Most higher end hairdressers will give you a free consultation and tell you what might suit you.

Hi, I also have naturally red hair and spent years hating it because it made me different before i came to love it for that reason. I personally have my hair coloured with a warm copper all over with bright red pieces in the top. This makes my hair much shinier and healthier and looks great when the light catches it. I am always told it looks nice and people always say they wish they could carry it off. I imagine as a red head your going to fair skinned so if you do choose to colour your hair you obviously need to consider your skin colour in your choice as going too light or to dark will make you look washed out.

Do whatever makes you happiest but ultimately remember its most important that you love it as you have to live with it don't make your choice based on other people. Good luck
