My husband is a redhead, and I am a brunette, but born with red hair. What are the chances of a red

My husband is a fair complected caucasian man, with red hair and freckles. I on the other hand, am mixed, half hispanic, half caucasian, with dark brown hair. I was also born with red hair, which then turned to blonde, and eventually turned to brown. I think it would be really neat to have a redhead being the fact that I am pregnant now, and I am just wondering what the chances are of having a redhead.

I cant tell you the chances, but obviously they are evident if you have red hair in yourself already. Lets say red hair is recessive trait. So, if your husband is 100% red hair then Id say the baby should show up red with a 50% chance based on whatever strand on that line of genetic code was in your egg.

Things are much more complicated than that with human beings in skin tone etc. but thats generally how traits are passed. I could easily be proven wrong.

The fact alone that your hair changed color could be genetic and utterly dismantle the basic trait model for example. But there could be other stimuli in your life that caused such a change that is not genetic.

you have a one in four chance of definitely having a red haired child,

and a two in four chance of possibly having a red haired child.

unfortunately they don't go together to give you three fourths.

Your gonna have a redhead! I have red hair and the father of my first two children had a little red in his facial hair. TWO redheaded girls! My son who is from a different father has strawberry blonde hair. his dad(my husband) has dark brown almost black hair and was born blonde. And still He's gonna be pelirojo!

Red hair is a recessive gene so you never know for sure.

I had ELECTRIC red hair as a baby and now it's more of an auburn/strawberry blonde. My hubby has brown hair and my baby was born w/ very dark brown hair, but at 10-months it's lightening to closer to my colour.

Friends of mine though have hair about the same colour as mine and my hubby's and their baby was born w/ BRIGHT red hair. His is staying red and they had to go back several generations to find someone else in their family with red hair.

Just the luck of the draw...

There is no such thing, half-hispanic. Hispanic is not a race.

EDITION

I am fighting against ignorance and stereotypes, that's why I do this kind of things. I don't care about my spelling because english is not my native language. You said:

"I am mixed half-hispanic, half-caucasian", if this is not recognizing that hispanic is a race... Be more specific, to say that you are hispanic to me means nothing. And please, no offenses, I don't want to hurt nobody.

EDITION 2

Oh my God, seems like I've deeply hurt the feelings of someone...

I didn't said you're ignorant, I said I was fighting ignorance (ignorance = substantive, right?). Spanish is your native language but you live in that country, it's easier that way. Look, I am really not angry with you correcting my English. If you are trying to irritate me by correcting me, you'd better find another way. I won't speak Spanish, my native language is Portuguese. Okay?

About your question:

Yes, your child may be readhead, but I don't know how probable is this.
